MASON CITY – A Mason City woman was charged with failure to maintain control after an auto accident Sunday.

Sheriff Kevin Pals confirmed Thursday that 63-year-old Leanne Rand was charged in the wake of an accident Sunday night where Rand lost control of her vehicle. She had been traveling west on 265th Street when, after losing control of her silver 2003 Ford Focus, the vehicle entered a ditch. The vehicle landed on its top. Rand suffered un-disclosed injuries and was transported to the Mercy Hospital emergency room.

  1. You can be sure there is more to it, if Kevin is involved. She may be tested for OWI or has other charges from the past like revoked license or driving while barred etc… It just sounds like most of the story has been left out… Just sayin..

  2. You know, usually I support the police but this sure looks like piling on. The lady has enough problems without throwing charges at her because she had a accident.
