NIT – Tiger Woods has decided to sit out an upcoming golf tournament due to health issues.
Woods, still the number one ranked golfer in the world, will be sitting out the Arnold Palmer Invitational, which is set to be held March 17-23.
Woods tweeted Wednesday: “Called Arnold today to tell him that sadly I won’t be able to play. Back spasms and the pain haven’t subsided.”
Arnold Palmer said after Tiger’s announcement “I am certainly sorry that Tiger is not able to play. Quite obviously, we will miss having him here this week. He called me to tell me that his back was still giving him a lot of trouble and he didn’t feel he should play. I told him I understood and wished him well.”
Woods is likely preparing for the all-important Master’s golf tournament to be held in April.
