HAMPTON – A Hampton teenager has been found not guilty of a felony sex abuse charge.

On January 15, 2014, a Franklin county jury acquitted 18-year-old of Hampton of felony C third degree sexual abuse.

The charge was brought by Hampton police after a July 13, 2013 incident. The Hampton Chronicle reported that a sexual encounter occurred at an apartment in Hampton between Carter and a 19-year-old female.  Carter and his accuser disagreed on whether the contact was consensual.
