MASON CITY – A local man who became irate with his girlfriend while enjoying a night of bowling was taken to jail by police last week.

Police were dispatched to Mystic Lanes for an out of control subject on January 4, 2014 at about 10:18 PM. According to a source, 21-year-old Logan Justin Pfertzel was intoxicated and became irate and was screaming at his girlfriend.  It was said that he had assaulted the woman.  Patrons took his keys away from him so he could not drive or leave the area, and he was sitting in a blue car as police were answering the call for service.

Police told NIT that officers arrived minutes later and found Pfertzel to be the male subject in question, standing outside the bowling alley.  He was placed under arrest only on a charge of public intoxication and jailed that night.

Pfertzel plead guilty to public intoxication on January 6th and was fined and assessed costs totaling $195.00.
