Man arrested after interfering with traffic stop, charged with felony

MASON CITY – Police arrested a local man Wednesday after he approached an officer conducting a traffic stop and disrupted his duties.

According to the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, Dustin William Snowbird, age 33 of Mason City, approached a deputy during a traffic stop an officer was conducting at 1st Street and North Madison Avenue Wednesday at about 10 minutes after midnight. Snowbird allegedly disrupted the officer and he was taken into custody.

Snowbird was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine) third offense (a D felony), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Interference with Official Acts, and Public Intoxication.

Snowbird posted a $5,000 cash bond Thursday and was released from the Cerro Gordo County Jail. He awaits a hearing on December 27th.

  1. He is a Native American but from the Dakotas, he owns land up there and makes a fortune every month renting it to oil companies, around 10,000 a month. Sadly it all goes to drug dealers.

  2. From his picture he looks like one of the redskins from Tama or maybe some other reservation. We just have got too many people around here we don’t need, I wish we would get serious and just make them leave and stay away.

      1. @wendingo-Sucks is a special kind of stupid. He has managed to piss of the veterans and the police as well as a lot of other people with his drug induced comments. Most all of which have carry permits. Not a good idea, but you just have to consider the lack of intelligence in a pot head.
