MASON CITY – A Mason City man with a history of criminal activity allegedly caused problems at the Mason City pool Sunday evening.

According to police, Tyler Anton Meuer, 23, entered the swimming pool without paying for admission and was swimming “and or rummaging through the locker rooms.”

Meuer was confronted by pool employees who asked him to leave and escorted him out of the building.

While leaving, Meuer reportedly then attempted to steal a bicycle outside the pool. Employees confronted him again. Meyer discarded the bike but had already removed a part from the bike and left on foot, southbound.

A police officer located Meuer walking near the deer pen in East Park where Meuer was subsequently arrested. He was charged with trespass and 3rd degree theft and taken to the Cerro Gordo County Jail.

Meuer, who was paroled from prison last year, has been in the news for various alleged crimes in recent years, including intimidation with a dangerous weapon.

  1. Just the ones whom recycle through 5-East,don’t go to church or have low I.Q’s,guess that qualifies several hundred. Or the Criminal types, but we send those types to Clearlake, they blend in better there. But bascially keep them on their Medications.

      1. Yeah, pretty much everyone. A town with low-paying, dead-end jobs. Attracts the less than desirable types. If you have no possessions, you certainly have no respect for the property of others.

        1. The reason we attract so much scum here is because its where the welfare office is. No car because I lost my license and Im worthless, well I better live close to the welfare office so I can scam the government for all I can.
