WASHINGTON – Friday afternoon, the President called head coach Erik Spoelstra to congratulate the Miami Heat on their second consecutive NBA championship. On the call, the President noted the Heat’s relentless determination in what was an historic season for the team and their MVP, LeBron James. The President told Coach Spoelstra that he looks forward to congratulating the team once again at the White House.
The Heat got past the San Antonio Spurs in seven hard-faught games to repeat as NBA champions.
