20 high school seniors barred from graduation over prank

WAYNE, W.Va., May 21 (UPI) — The 20 students who allegedly broke into their West Virginia school as part of a senior prank will not be allowed to participate in graduation, officials said.

The students receive their diplomas, but cannot walk across the stage at the ceremony and are also not allowed on school property, board members told WSAZ-TV, Huntington, W.Va.

The seniors allegedly broke into Wayne High School Friday night. They spread deer carcass blood, motor and vegetable oil in the hallways and one classroom.

There was also deer urine poured in a carpet and a chair in the vice principal’s office.

State police said if the students perform community service and pay for the damage, estimated at $2,500, they can avoid criminal charges.

The students began cleaning up the damage Monday, the district’s superintendent said.
