Northwood man injured in I-35 crash Saturday

logo-iowa-state-patrolNORTHWOOD – A Northwood man was injured Saturday morning when a semi-truck struck his vehicle while he was traveling on Interstate 35.

According to a report, Thoman Toye, 54, of Northwood was southbound on Interstate 35 in Worth County when a semi truck driven by Leonard Rutherford of St. Louis, Missouri approached his vehicle from the rear.  Rutherford, who later told authorities he did not see any tail lights on Toye’s 1993 Ford Station Wagon, proceeded to strike the vehicle from behind, pushing it into the median.

Toye suffered undisclosed injuries and was transported to Mayor Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

The accident remains under investigation.
