Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Roberta S. Jacobson will travel to Spain, the United Kingdom, and Belgium January 14-17, 2013.
In Madrid, Assistant Secretary Jacobson will meet with Foreign Minister José Manuel García-Margallo and senior Spanish officials to discuss topics of regional and global concern and deliver a speech at Casa de América on “U.S. Policy in the Americas: The Opportunities Ahead.”
Assistant Secretary Jacobson will travel to London on January 16. She will meet with senior British government officials to discuss bilateral and global issues. She will review cooperation in the region since December 2011, when bilateral consultations on Latin American and Caribbean issues last took place.
On January 17 in Brussels, Assistant Secretary Jacobson will meet with EU External Action Service colleagues to discuss bilateral and global issues and hold annual consultations on Latin America (COLAT) with the EU.
