  1. You’d have to have a second job for what they are paying. Thought about applying to this position myself but found out it only pays $23k per year. That’s insane.

  2. Open question to Mason City – How many new industries or new jobs has the Historic Park Inn Hotel brought in since it opened? Just curious.

    1. So you think they should have left it a cockroach infested whore house in the middle of downtown? Boy that would make people want to come live in MC. That and the site of the N End. What keeps jobs away is the attitude of the people that live there. It SUX!

    2. Not sure but I think it was instrumental in nearly bring the Target Distribution Center here AND a Toyota manufacturing plant. Pretty good track record I would say.

    3. @A Citizen-the only businesses I have heard of are the eight that have gone out of business and not one that has gone into business downtown. Not a good record at all for all the money we spent. Of course our mall that we spent all the money on was just sold at a sheriffs sale recently so who knows where that is going. I do know there are a lot of empty stores in the mall. We would have been money ahead to tear down the old whore house and turn it into a parking lot. It is nothing but a rich man’s toy.

      1. I think the Historic Park Inn spawned all those second hand stores within a few blocks of it. All those ritzy ritzers can now by clothes for 50 cents right off the rack.

  3. It is a tough job to sell Main Street Mason City. I think she will hang in there, looks like Jodee has a backup business to keep her floating.
