WATERLOO – Shortly after 2am on Sunday, December 2, 2012, Waterloo Police responded to Allen Memorial Hospital on a report of a shooting victim.
The victim was identified as 22 year-old Shantorio Vashawn Evans of Waterloo. Evans was a passenger in a vehicle that was west bound in the 1600 block of Broadway Street. A second vehicle pulled along side of the vehicle Evans was riding in and an unknown person fired multiple shots into the vehicle Evans occupied.
Evans was driven to Allen Memorial Hospital in the vehicle. He was treated for multiple gunshot wounds but was later pronounced dead. An autopsy has been scheduled for Evans and no further details are being released at this time.
