Convicted domestic abuser arrested again

SWALEDALE – A Clear Lake man was arrested on domestic assault charges on Friday, October 19th.

Joseph Eugene Scarcello, 35, was arrested by Cerro Gordo County sheriff’s deputies in Swaledale at about 9:00 PM Friday om charges of domestic assault/enhanced felony.  He is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail as of Sunday night waiting to see a judge.

Scarcello has previously been charged with domestic abuse/assault (aggravated domestic by Clear Lake police) in 2002 (still owes $525.00 to court), tampering with a witness or juror in 2001,  driving while barred – habitual offender and criminal mischief in 2004, identity theft in 2005 (still owes $2,298.66 to court), domestic abuse in 2007 (still owes $263.23 to court), third degree theft in 2011 but struck a deal accepted by Judge Ronald Wagennar and amended charge to fifth degree theft, assault on a peace officer with a weapon in 1996 and other related charges that were plead down (still owes $1116.65 to court), assault in 1995, fifth degree theft in 1995 and 1996 and 2005 and 2006 (still owes $207.25 to court), interference with official acts in 2003 and 2007 (still owes $427.50 to court),  trespassing in 2007, domestic assault causing injury in 2007, eluding authorities in 2003 (still owes $1067.50 to court), criminal mischief in 2004 (still owes $986.26 to court) and a list of other charges and convictions.

  1. Just another mis-understood lifetime criminal. I am sure our judges and county attorneys will see that and turn him loose to do some real damage.
