Iowa inmate death reported

Kent Leeroy Roe, an inmate assigned to the Luster Heights Camp, died Thursday evening, August 23, 2012 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Roe died of natural causes due to a heart attack.

Roe was 54 years old and serving a 5-year sentence for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated-Third or Subsequent Offense from Scott County. This sentence began on January 12, 2012 at the Davenport Residential Corrections Facility, and Roe had been in prison since May 29, 2012.

Roe was flown to La Crosse after receiving care at the Waukon Medical Center due to his emergent medical condition.
