MASON CITY, Iowa – Sophomores Nick Tillo and Tyler Peterson will end their NIACC baseball careers by receiving 1st-Team All-Region XI honors.
Tillo, a left fielder from Sioux City, led the Trojans in batting average this season at .410. He also drove in 39 RBI, had 17 doubles and three triples. He was an honorable mention player last season.
Peterson, a first baseman out of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, hit .390 with 39 RBI, 20 doubles, and had no fielding errors this season. Peterson was named Academic All-Region last season. Both Tillo and Peterson were in the top-10 in the ICCAC for batting average, hits and doubles.
Three freshmen, second baseman and Mason City native Hunter King, pitcher Tim Black of Mount Hope, Ontario, and third baseman Jose Perez of Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico were named honorable mentions.
