MASON CITY – The Hardee’s Classic baseball tournament wrapped up Sunday evening.
All the games were played on the north side of Mason City at Holcim baseball complex. The tournament is an important event for the Mohawk Booster Club.
Eric Burt, one of the organizers said 40 youth teams attended the tournament. Team members and their families came from out of the area for the three day tournament.
The first round of games was Friday night with the championship game being played Sunday evening. Lots of people were enjoying the games. A few of the parents and grandparents were keeping warm underneath blankets, but they said the kids were having fun. One grandparent, who was cheering the kids on, said they weren’t sure if they were going to be able to grill out later because their grandson might get to play another game. She said with a smile, “we might have to pick-up some burgers from Hardee’s if he gets to play another game.”
