IOWA CITY – Aaron White scored a career-best 25 points with 11 rebounds to lead Iowa past Dayton 84-75 in an opening-round NIT game. Both were game-highs.
The victory was Iowa’s first postseason win since winning at Iowa State in 2003 in the NIT.
A host of Iowa players had strong games.
Zach McCabe had 20 pts, equaling a career-high. Melsahn Basabe notched 15 pts. Bryce Cartwright pitched in a career-high 11 assists.
Iowa lead 44-41 at the half.
Iowa awaits the winner of the Oregon-LSU matchup in Eugene, Oregon. If LSU wins, Iowa hosts the second round matchup.
