Just think how much effort goes into trying to circumvent the public from your true agenda. Wouldn’t it be easier to share with those who elected you? I am not necessarily referring to anyone individual but to a cross section in our City Hall who are silently poking around with the Sanitation Department and the Fire Department as well. Just what the hell is the big secret? What else in this town is going to fall prey to this dysfunctional covey that runs this city like it was a conspiracy.
If you as voters and property owners and every other form of residency do not speak up, then they will do with this town whatever they damn please. The only ammunition in your gun is your vote; other than that, you are pretty much defenseless. If you blogg on this site your thoughts and words go directly into the highest level of administration in City Hall; not only is every article read, every response to that article is read as well. They would never admit to it but they too blogg; their feeble attempts to justify their failed Development Director and the other kid who combs his hair down over his forehead like he was 14, has some title and does little. If they really want to initiate a lean government, those two positions would be a good place to start cutting.
It is from your bloggs that your opponent evaluates your level of intelligence and possible resistance to their agenda; its kinda like looking at the cards in your hand during a poker game. I urge you to speak your mind, let these people know what you want and what you think. If I were you I certainly wouldn’t bother with any of the council positions. You might as slam your hand in a car door as to interrupt the euphonic trance they’re in. For a very brief moment it was thought by seasoned council watchers that one…maybe two would take the citizens concerns seriously…but that didn’t last long. It will be found that electing that council will go down in the history of this city as one of the biggest frauds ever perpetrated on any community in the 21st century. The tapes noe being recorded will be used in political science classes as examples of how to turn your back on your constitutes ….or the best way not to get re-elected. I didn’t watch the last council meeting because I had run out of nausea pills…… If I want to watch a choreographed act, I can watch the Rockettes from Radio City Music Hall in New York and at least get some enjoyment from it.

Why dont you share with us where you moved? The last man that did was in BumFu**Texas, population 10. I am sure we can find you in the middle of nowhere also, where you have no services to pay for so there are no taxes, you have no elected officials so you dont have to worry about voting, and you certainly dont have anyone to complain about! Please, share with us, or kindly close the door behind you! I am sure you are better off without us and we are better off without you! WINNING!!!

We continue to talk about the problems and even in my neighborhood we discuss it but until we can get the people to come out and vote in mass, there is very little that can be done except bitch. They are very good about getting their small minority out to vote and even though the numbers are small it is enough. Most people think there is nothing that will change the staus quo, so why try. Over the years this has been proven. They count on the voter apathy. Get off your ass and turn off the TV and vote.

Next election cycle, why not toss your hat into the ring and run? Its so easy to sit on the sideline and point fingers at everything that is wrong. Anyone can do that.
It takes real courage and guts to run for office and serve. Yet there are those (Peter Children) who are content to let others serve and him to sit back and complain.
Oh, my. Peter would never run for office. He would not be happy with all the name calling people would throw back at him on here. Can you imagine the names they would come up with? He can dish it out, but would he be able take it?
It takes more courage then you will ever have just to sign your real name, lets start there. Next I am too old to run for office. About 3 years ago my family and I read the Tea Leaves. The constant put down of Max Weaver, right or wrong, was our first big indicator. The elites did not, could not, have a watchdog in their midst.
The Globe Gazette jumped on the dog pile too.
Our taxes rose at a faster rate. We finally got our house sold, thank goodness.
Until you get the truth out to the people huddled in their houses in ignorance you that remain are doomed.
Trips to Washington was a joke. We are so glad we left Mason City behind us. Things are much improved with more income.
