A Mason City man is not happy about a parking ticket he received Thursday.

Tony Gulick was parked just west of the Park Inn Hotel from noon to 12:45 pm Thursday for lunch at Lorados.  When he returned to his car, there was a ticket on his windshield.

Gulick snapped a photo of the “jam packed hotel parking” as he called it (see below).  He says almost every spot was open when he pulled in, and just wanted to have a quick lunch at one of his favorite downtown lunch spots.

He says he has heard that a lot of other people are “outraged” about the ticketed parking in the downtown area, especially with all the effort to draw people to the area.

“Haven’t they done enough damage to downtown businesses with this huge waste of money, I mean hotel?” Gulick asked.  “I also heard that last week for the downtown-sponsored ball-drop event, every single car got a ticket for parking here.”
