The Lifelong Learning Institute at North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) has released the list of classes for the fall 2011.
There are 37 classes available with a variety of topics, including Changes in Banking, Writing for the Sheer Joy of It and The American Civil War and many more. The classes are college-level courses of short duration without grades or exams or credit.
More than 250 community members have become members of the Institute and participate in classes. Adults of all ages and educational backgrounds join the Institute to take part in the classes, challenge their minds and meet other lifelong learners. “The Lifelong Learning Institute has opened doors for us, in both knowledge and new friends,” said Lifelong Learner Mike Eddy of Clear Lake.
Joining the Lifelong Learning Institute is easy and affordable. An annual membership fee of $99 allows members to register for unlimited classes for the fall and spring semesters. Members become NIACC students with student ID’s and can use of the library and other NIACC facilities.
