Police arrest man after brief stand-off Friday morning

A man was arrested in Mason City after a brief stand-off with Mason City police officers.

Police were called to 914 6th Street SW at about 8 AM. A witness told NorthIowaToday.com that “Officers were inspecting a broken upstairs window and a pile of clothes that were laying on the west side of the house.”

Apparently, a person in the house would not come out, and there was a pit bull in the house as well. A neighbor said “he is a gentle dog, if he knows you. If he doesn’t, he will attack.”

A man at the house was arrested and charged with interference with official acts, no rabies vaccination and no dog license, NorthIowaToday.com was told. No other information was immediately forthcoming from the Mason City Police Department on the incident.
