FastTrac NewVenture coming to Forest City and Lake Mills

FastTrac® NewVenture™ classes, the proven course to help you start and run a business, will be offered in the Lake Mills and Forest City area this spring. These classes will provide guidance and knowledge for the start-up entrepreneur and help put a new spin on improving a current owner’s business. Classes will begin on Thursday, April 7, at Lake Mills High School, and will alternate between Forest City and Lake Mills throughout the four week session.

Lake Mills Chamber Development Corporation and Forest City Economic Development are co-sponsoring this series of FastTrac®. The unique schedule allows the greatest flexibility and access for everyone. On Monday’s, the classes will be held in Thorson Hall at Waldorf College in Forest City. While on Thursday’s, classes will be held in the computer room #123 at Lake Mills High School. All classes will run from 6 to 9:30 p.m. throughout the series.

Throughout the classes participants will evaluate and design a business concept, write a feasibility plan, discover approaches to marketing that create an understanding about the customer and pricing methods along with various other topics. Participants will receive 2 hours of credit for the course.

FastTrac® has more than 15 years of proven success for helping the new and existing business get on the right track. Graduates of FastTrac® have started more than 225 businesses in North Iowa and today 78% of these businesses are still going strong.
If you’re interested but not sure you’re ready for the entire course, you can attend FastTrac® LaunchPad™ a free introductory, two hour session to learn more. You will explore the challenges of starting a new business and what you can expect from the FastTrac® New Venture™ series. The dates are March 29 in Lake Mills and March 30 in Forest City. There are sessions from 2:00-4:00 p.m. 6:00-8:00 p.m. in both locations.

The John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center is located on the North Iowa Area Community College campus in Mason City and provides college level courses and degree programs in entrepreneurship, as well as comprehensive consulting services for business start-ups, existing industries and owner transitions in the North Iowa region. Space is available for start-up businesses in the North Iowa Business Incubator.
