The following information was emailed from Mason City School officials and obtained by NorthIowaToday.com:
“Dear MCHS families,
The MCHS students and staff showed tremendous flexibility and patience with the extra security measures put in place to ensure more safety at school today. The extra measures will not continue on Monday, March 7 as the situation involving the bomb threat has been resolved due to the vigilance by students, staff, administration, resource officers, and Mason City Police Department. We will proceed with school as normal on Monday. The team work and network of support displayed by students and staff was another reminder of the power of community that may occur in the face of adversity or crisis. We will work with the police department to determine the appropriate discipline consequences for the student. Please be assured that actions placing our students, staff, and school’s safety in question will not be tolerated.”|
