MASON CITY – A man caught twice previously for drunk driving crashed his car this weekend in Mason City, leading to his third arrest for that crime.
Anthony Dale Mason, age 32 of Forest City but previously of Mason City, was charged with driving while barred and second-offense operating while intoxicated. The arrest came after an accident / collision that took place early Saturday morning, March 18 at about 1:57 AM near 19th Street SW and Monroe Avenue. Police were on the scene providing traffic control and taking photos of the accident as they arrested Mason. He was jailed and held briefly before he was released, pending a court date.
Mason City was last caught drunk driving in 2015, when Mason City police caught him on July 15. He later pled guilty to first-offense operating while intoxicated and was ordered to pay well over $2,000 in fines and court fees. He still owes $1,926.75 in that case. His license was also revoked.
Mason was also caught drunk driving in Winnebago county in 2003.
