Semi trailer fire extinguished near Clear Lake

fireCLEAR LAKE – A blown tire helped start a semi trailer on fire late Thursday night near Clear Lake.

On June 30th, 2016 at 11:17 PM, the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office responded to Exit 188 northbound on ramp to Interstate 35 for a semi trailer that had blown a tire and caught fire. Kirby Lynn Newsom, age 55 of Ankeny, Iowa, was driving a semi truck with a dual trailer owned by Old Dominion. A rear tire on the second trailer blew out and started the trailer on fire.

Newsom was not injured in the incident.

Clear Lake Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.

    1. Reading comprehension problems?? It was a semi with a blow out and no one was injured. Read slower next time, or pronounce the words out loud. That might help.
