CLEAR LAKE – A Clear Lake man who received a deferred judgement in a drunk driving case this past July was busted for a second time Saturday night.
Adam Scott Sherwood, age 26 of Clear Lake, was arrested Saturday evening and taken to the Cerro Gordo county jail on a charge of second offense operating while intoxicated, driving while revoked and no SR-22 insurance.
Sherwood was arrested by the Iowa State Patrol back on July 5, 2015 for first offense operating while intoxicated. In showing leniency, judge Karen Salic gave Sherwood a deferred judgement. He served no jail time, was placed on a year of probation, and ordered to pay $1,350.00 in fines and court costs (somewhat less than others end up paying in other fees for same offense.) Court records show his license was not revoked.
However, if convicted, Saturday’s arrest would certainly be a violation of Sherwood’s probation. Sherwood remained jailed into Sunday morning on $2,000 cash or surety bond.
