Training on identifying and reporting child abuse to be held in Forest City

FOREST CITY – Waldorf College is hosting the Winnebago County Domestic and Sexual Assault Response Team on Thursday, May 28, for a training seminar on how to appropriately gain information from an abused child with compromising investigations. The training will be held from 10:00 am – 1:30 pm in the Odvin Hagen Music Center Recital Hall on campus.

Participants will learn the do’s and don’ts associated with interviewing children, how their information is applied to the investigation, information about child protection centers and risk factors and warning signs for abuse. The training will be lead by Allen Child Protection Center forensic interviewers Miranda Kracke and Katie Strub.
