At least 9 people dead in Texas biker shoot-out

gunWACO, TX – Police in the Central Texas city of Waco are warning people to stay out of a shopping and commercial area Sunday after rival biker gangs squared off and up to nine people were gunned down.

According to the Waco Police Department, “multiple injuries to include multiple fatalities” at the shooting at Twin Peaks restaurant. They said officers were on scene when the shooting started, as trouble was rumored to be percolating. No officers were injured. Approximately three rival gangs faced off in a turf battle, and nine people were shot dead.

Officers soon had the city’s entire Central Texas Marketplace secured, police said, after most of the shooting had subsided. They thanked businesses for taking care of their staff and patrons by closing for the day.

Officers continued to arrest individuals coming to the scene with weapons. They warned people that “this is not the time to sight see as we are dealing with very dangerous individuals.”

The situation was still fluid as of Sunday night.
