Three Forest City teens injured in SUV rollover

logo-iowa-state-patrolRURAL WINNEBAGO COUNTY – An accident just east of Thompson, Iowa injured three teens Sunday evening.

According to a report from the Iowa State Patrol, at about 6:30 PM Sunday, September 14, 2014, a 1998 Subaru Legacy driven by 16-year-old Jackson Price of Thompson was eastbound on the gravel road 420th Street near 80th Avenue when he lost control and the vehicle began to fishtail. The vehicle then proceeded to roll several times.

At least three teens were injured. Miranda Smith, age 16; Cassandra Smith, age 14; and Dallas Smith, age 15, were all taken to Mercy Hospital. Dallas was flown by Mercy Airmed and was not wearing a seatbelt in the accident. Cassandra and Miranda were wearing seat belts. Their conditions were not immediately known.

The accident remains under investigation. Multiple emergency responder agencies assisted at the scene.
