Mason City Mayoral candidate, Max Weaver, will be sponsoring informational meetings held in the Large Study Group Room on the first floor of the Mason City Public Library (Please use the Coffee Shop entrance).
The dates of these upcoming meetings include:
Tuesday, October 8th , 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, October 15th , 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Thursday, October 17th, 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
The public is invited and strongly encouraged to attend these meetings. Mr. Weaver will introduce himself to city voters, as well as present a short, informational presentation. Following the presentation, the public will have a chance to take part in a question and answer segment with Mr. Weaver. The meeting will conclude with an opportunity to meet Mr. Weaver personally. Refreshments will be served and everyone is welcome. Co-chairs for Mr. Weaver’s Mayoral campaign 2013 are Carl Grover, Pat Steinfort, Dorothy Sullivan, Gabrielle Francis, Jim Burgess and Amy Graven.

Is there going to be debates from the candidates this election? I have never heard of having an election an not having debates. If I remember right they had several in the last city elections.
The “old school” media will never hold a debate. Why would they want to give fresh voices like Matt and Jodi a chance to speak? They sure as hell wouldn’t want Max to stick it to Bookmeyer. As for Foster and Symonds, just stay home and watch it on TV….PERIOD.
Usually the local news station get’s the debates rolling. SO we can forget about that. They will protect the baby they love so dearly on that notion.
The only debate bookmeyer can hold is Who should I screw today and what alcohol tonight?
Bookmeyer is a bad seed don’t you ever forget it. Even his friends should rethink what they are dealing with.
Let’s at least get HONESTY back in the room! No matter how it’s handed out!

I have a novel idea. How about a debate between all mayoral candidates where they all get asked the ‘tough’ questions by an impartial moderator.
@Quinn-Good idea, but you will never get the mayor to go along with that. he is afraid of being asked tough questions.
I asked him for a debate on his Facebook page and it was quickly deleted and I was blocked from making further comments. I have also kept my promise to run a clean positive campaign and so far I’m the only candidate to do so. So I’m not sure what he’s so afraid of. As a matter of fact I think I’m the only candidate to ask for a debate. No notes, no papers, town hall style.
Thought that happens in America, but in MC where the elite beat on the little guy, it won’t happen. Only chance: VOTE. Then you will get fair treatment.
Max you have my vote, my wife’s vote our daughter’s vote and that of our neighbors on both sides of our house. I am going to see if we can make our Block 100% for Weaver.
I want to commend Mr. weaver for stepping up and challenging this bully that has pushed his way through city hall by ignoring his real role in office. Bookmryer has taken over the duties of Brent Trout without the authority to do so. He needs to be stopped.

Your knowledge is what we crave! My family and I are extremely disappointed with our current mayor.
My biggest beef in the beginning is he is not from our city. How could someone really care about things just on that. How much could he really know?
My final beef is how rude he is. That snotty bitchie type of rude. You all know what I mean. Speaking the way he does about you Max. People talk how you are to the grit and don’t like it, what makes his attitude acceptable?
These may be trivial to some but the fact is it speaks volumes.
I need to know the facts and real truth and no lying to get ahead. I want someone to yell it out not smile with a knife in hand.
