MASON CITY – Ann Valentine visited the NIACC campus today in hopes of becoming the next college president. A number of forums were held throughout the day in order to introduce the candidate to the public, students, and faculty. One attendee praised her openness, and was impressed at her ideas to improve the school, as well as the surrounding community. These included “partnering with additional businesses and industries” in order to keep educated professionals in the area, and also how it is important to not “give away too much in tax incentives” to businesses to entice them to locate in Mason City.
Tomorrow Steven Schulz is next on the list and will be available to answer questions from the public during two one hour forums. These will be held at 9:00 am and 3:00 pm in room 101 of the Activity Center.
