NICEVILLE, FLORIDA – Iowa was defeated by TCU, 79-66, in the championship game of the Emerald Coast Classic on Saturday.
Kris Murray and Patrick McCaffery were named to the Emerald Coast Classic All-Tournament Team.
Murray posted his third double-double of the season and second in as many games (11 points, 10 rebounds). Murray has led the squad in rebounding three times this season.
Tony Perkins tallied a team-best 15 points. He also equaled a season high with three steals, all credited in the first half, and blocked a personal-best two shots.
Tonight was Iowa’s first loss of the season after winning its first five.
Ahron Ulis netted a season-best 15 points, reaching his season high in the first half.
TCU held the Hawkeyes to a season-low three 3-pointers made.
Iowa (5-1) returns home on Tuesday hosting Georgia Tech (4-2) in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. (CT) on Mediacom Court at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City.
