Rudd man accused of stealing precious Buddy Holly heirlooms

CLEAR LAKE – A Rudd man is accused of stealing precious Buddy Holly heirlooms that were recently recovered.

OnFebruary 15, 2019 at around 3:40 pm, Clear Lake Police Officers arrested 59-year-old Mark Hobbs, from an apartment in Rudd, Iowa. Hobbs is alleged to have taken the three Ritchie Valens Family’s framed pictures from an event on 2-2-19 in Clear Lake. Those pictures were located early on 2-14-19 in a parking lot in the 500 block of Highway 18, also in Clear Lake.  It is unknown how the pictures arrived in the parking lot.

Hobbs was seen by investigators on surveillance video taking the pictures and was later identified by witnesses.

The Clear Lake Police Department was assisted by the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office in arresting Hobbs.

Hobbs was charged with Theft 3rd Degree and transported to the Cerro Gordo County Jail.

The case remains under investigation.

Hobbs? Like Josh hobbs? So who isn’t on meth in that family? These people do enjoy jail…. Sad.

Oddly enough this josh hobbs person is currently in jail for domestic abuse. Where’s the updates to the inmate pop.? Or the story about the crime? I’ve heard strangulation was involved?
