Mason City man captured after vehicle, foot pursuit

MASON CITY – A Mason City man was arrested early Friday morning after fleeing from an MCPD officer.

At 12:23 a.m., an officer attempted to stop a vehicle for an equipment violation in the 300 block of North Monroe Avenue.

The driver refused to stop and led the officer on a short vehicle pursuit.  The driver then abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot.  The officer chased the man down and arrested the culprit.
Tony Jones, 23, of Mason City, was charged with driving while barred, improper plate lamp, fraudulent use of registration, eluding a law enforcement vehicle, and failure to carry proof of insurance.

Jones was also arrested on five Cerro Gordo County warrants.  They included two counts of failure to appear for driving while barred, 2 counts of failure to appear for no insurance, and one count of failure to appear for driving under suspension.

Jones is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on $6900.00 bond.

SUBJECT IS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.

and he gets “time served” what a punishment…

Why would anyone think that this guy has to follow the law???
