MASON CITY – A Mason City man is guilty of his second drunk driving offense after he was involved in an auto accident that caused injuries earlier this summer.
Mason City police officers were dispatched for a collision involving three vehicles with injuries on Thursday, June 1 at about 4:51 PM at the intersection of Fourth Street SW and Grover Avenue. A state accident report was completed and one driver was arrested, 51-year-old Mark Robert Graves, on a charge of second-offense operating while intoxicated and failure to obey a traffic control device.
After a guilty plea on September 5, Graves is guilty of second-offense operating while intoxicated; he will face a trial in December on the charge of failure to obey a traffic control device. He was sentenced to 7 days in jail and was ordered to pay $2,641.25 in fines and court fees. His driver’s license was revoked, as well.
Graves was caught drunk driving by Mason City police back in 2011, and was later guilty.
