This was a result of iowa governor terry brandstad closing our mental health facilities and the closing of our prisons creating the over crowded prisons and yet we still keep closing prisons making it near impossible to keep the health needs of our inmates go unseen and un treated and due to the over crowded prisons people like ryan who require special needs. And dont get! Because no one listens to
Them!
I believe that due to lower pay longer hours and lack of responsibilities to their duties. Our corrections officers and staff members. Are not. Using training or not given training to. Deal with people affected by mental health disease and my son died as a result of this which is negligence .from the state of iowa and its. Employees!..and i will be seeking justice for not just ryan but others like him as well and hope one day someone will be held accountable for not doing their job. And maybe training will be given and used and we wont loose another loved one !like ryan!
