I agree that if someone has a child, they should take care of that child. Unfortunately, until the government starts clamping down on welfare benefits, it’s going to stay this way. There are some families that are truly in need. But there’s even more that abuse the system. I feel that if someone can afford cigarettes, tattoos, drugs, and alcohol, then they don’t need assistance. The sad thing is its their kids that are going without so they can smoke those cigarettes. They didn’t ask to be…

Brought into this world. I don’t think it’s fair the kids should suffer and not have food. And correct me if I’m wrong. I do think it’s alot of volunteers that help with this. Sure, it’s been funded, but I know of some people that do volunteer for this.

Here is the problem with Sad But True’s thinking. Our corporate controlled government has made it more lucrative for good paying jobs to be shipped overseas, making it challenging in today’s society for the average person to find good honest employment. Additionally, the wealthy have paid our politicians to rewrite tax codes so they are not paying their fair share, leaving much of the tax burden on the middle class. If we can get big money out of government and get them working for the…

…people we can begin to reduce the need for assistance programs and get people on their own feet.

I agree with some of what you say, BUT, with too many people, if everything is given to them, there is ZERO incentive to get out and make it on their own? Why not make you work for it and I will stay home and drink and smoke and watch TV.
Cant we ask people to do something to get the assistance that I have to work to provide them?

I know I am a mean person, but why is it my job to feed everybody elses kid? Free, really, who pays for the food, who pays for those to serve and cook it. I raised and provided for my family. I had to work to do it. I wish others would be forced to do the same.

Amen
