MASON CITY – The No. 6 NIACC women’s basketball team hosts Southwestern in the opening round of the NJCAA Region XI tournament at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
NIACC (23-5 overall, 12-2 in the ICCAC) enter the tournament as the No. 2 seed. Southwestern (4-25, 3-11) is the tournament’s No. 7 seed.
The winner of Tuesday’s contests plays third-seeded Southeastern or sixth-seeded Iowa Lakes in the tournament semifinals at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. The highest remaining seed will host Thursday’s semifinal contest.
NIACC swept Southwestern during the regular season. The Lady Trojans won 79-58 at Southwestern on Jan. 28 and won 68-42 on Feb. 26.
