STATE COLLEGE, PA – Aaron White registered his third double-double of the season and 15th of his career in leading Iowa to a road win over Penn State Saturday, 81-77.

Aaron White registered his third double-double of the season and 15th of his career with 21 points and 14 boards. He was a perfect 6 for 6 from the free throw linen overtime and secured a crucial steal to secure the win.

“The steal was the play of the game,” Iowa coach Fran McCaffery said. “This was a hard-fought game. Both team put themselves in position to win. Somebody has to make a play; he made it.”

Iowa shot .926 (25-27) from the free throw line during the game while controlling the offensive glass.

With Saturday’s victory, Iowa (19-10, 10-6) is on its first four-game Big Ten winning streak since Jan. 24-Feb. 4, 2006, and Iowa’s fourth straight win over Penn State. This is Iowa’s 10th Big Ten win of the season – the most under Fran McCaffery.

This game marked the first overtime game between Iowa and Penn State since Iowa’s 75-67 double overtime victory on March 7, 2009 in Iowa City.

Iowa is 18-1 this year when scoring 64+ points, with the lone loss coming to Iowa State. Iowa is 6-3 in road games this season, with five of the wins coming in league play.

Aaron White surpassed Michael Payne for fourth on Iowa’s all-time career rebounding list.
