DES MOINES – A man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of two persons in a Des Moines suburb.
Pete Jason Polson, age 32, has been identified as the suspect after an episode that took place on Monday, November 17, 2014. Several shooting incidents took place that day in the Pleasant Hill area in Polk county. Polson was arrested and is being held in the Polk County Jail on several charges including attempted murder.
Two victims were injured. Those victims are identified as Zachary Whitehill and Mark Mitchell. Mark Mitchell is a civilian employee of the Iowa Department of Public Safety (DPS). At this time, law enforcement officials have no evidence to believe that either victim’s place of employment has any connection to the shootings that took place on Monday.
The Iowa Department of Public Safety said no further information will be released at this time regarding this incident, as it is an on-going investigation.
