There were a number of children of privilege on the boat. This may all go away with no further notice. Too many lawyers in the family to have it otherwise.
Attitude– nobody died– no harm no foul.

There not children.

I don’t know about alcohol but you can bet speed was involved. No way they have that kind of damage without speed. Young people out in a boat at night is not a good thing to see.

I don’t know that we can even determine if this was the direct cause at this point. I think if it was real high speed there would have been much more damage to the boat, dock and lift. Let alone more serious injuries.I think maybe just being inattentive or something as simple as goofing around and somebody falling on the throttle lever could even have occured.

@North Iowa-Both the boat and the dock were totaled and most of them went to the hospital. How bad do you think it had to be?

Lets not forget that the 2000 Cobalt struck and destroyed a docked boat, a 2010 Alumacraft, model unknown, that was setting on a metal boat lift, that was also destroyed, before it struck the dock. To me, the dock looked like it was cut completely through. I was on the lake Sunday afternoon and from what I could see, I’d say the Cobalt was going to fast considering the time of day and distance from shore, to cause that much damage.

Also, just to let you know, I am not ashamed of myself for making a comment. I live in reality, not a fantasy world some people live in. So I call them as I see them. You really shouldn’t mix the Bible with science, it doesn’t work.

In your opinion, Andrew Nicholas is, a nice young man. But that doesn’t override the fact that he did something stupid/avoidable. When he took those 9 young people out on that boat, at 2:00 in the morning, he held their lives in his hands. That nice young man is fortunate that he did not kill any of them, or somebody else that could have been on that dock. I wonder what the parents of those 9 young people think about nice guy, Andrew Nicholas now. How do you separate nice from stupidity.

It’s hard to land a boat at night. Boats don’t have headlights just a small colored light on the front. I always use a spotlight because some docks don’t have very good lighting. This might be a case of being young and dumb.I hope they weren’t stupid enough to be drinking.

Lucky there was nobody on that dock or in the or there might be some funerals to attend this week. Some of us make mistakes….some of us make some serious, stupid, preventable mistakes. They are very fortunate no one was killed.

Andrew Nicholas is a very nice young man you dipshit Allen. You should be ashamed of yourself. We all make mistakes and none of us our perfect. We were born “imperfect” dude. Comments from people like you make me believe the “Missing Link” does exist and your lack of compassion makes me feel sorry for you. I’ll pray for you Einstein.

“Nice young man” doesn’t cut it. There’s something called liability and accountability in this society and you are liable for your actions, especially in relation to how they affect others…well, unless you’re a biker or redneck with a pickup truck, then you’re exempt and can do whatever you please.

I don’t have compassion for stupidity. Everybody has a choice.

no concern for the injured? No lucky to be alive? You guys are so sympathetic and compassionate it amazes me!

Look at the last names, nothing will be done its already a done deal!

Up to no good at 2:05 in the morning. Do you suppose that alcohol is involved. Hopefully there will be some charges.
