Scott Alan Landers, 61, of Greene, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026, at his home on the farm outside of Greene. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for Scott and his family. Born October 17, 1964, in Waverly, Iowa, Scott was the oldest of two sons born to Verl and Carol Landers. Raised in Greene, he spent more than thirty years as a skilled toolmaker.
Scott loved the simple things most — quiet mornings fishing, the beauty of the outdoors, tinkering in his machine shop, and being with the people he cared about. He deeply valued his lifelong best friend Merv and his good friend Ann, and many of his favorite memories were made around late-night fire circles filled with stories and laughter. Above all, he was a proud and loving grandpa who lit up whenever his grandchildren were near.
He is survived by his children, Derek; Trent (Danah); and Tonya (Adam); his stepchildren, Chas, Roger, and Chris; and his adoring grandchildren, Nova, Callie, CJ, Lexie, Lyllie, and Kayleigh. His family brought him endless happiness and pride.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Verl and Carol Landers, and his younger brother, Steve Landers.
In his final days, Scott was exactly where he wanted to be — at his peaceful farm outside Greene, surrounded by the countryside he loved.
