Lavern C. Hunemuller, 92, of Tripoli, died Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Tripoli Nursing & Rehab.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Grace Lutheran Church in Tripoli with Rev. Evan Meester officiating. Interment will follow at Grace Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Tripoli. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Tuesday, March 31st at Becker & Son Funeral Home in Tripoli and for one hour preceding services at the Church on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the family for later designation.

Lavern Carl, son of Albert J. and Meta (Klemp) Hunemuller was born June 13, 1933. He was baptized, July 2, 1933, and confirmed, March 30, 1947, both at St. John’s Evangelical Church in Tripoli. Lavern received his education in the Tripoli Schools and graduated from Tripoli High School in 1951. Following graduation, he served in the United States Army from November of 1951 until being honorably discharged in September of 1953. Lavern served as a Signal Corps Officer. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Tripoli, where he began working at Warner Electric. On August 16, 1959, he was united in marriage with Carol Meyer at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Ackley. To this union two children were born, Linda K. and David L. In 1965, Lavern opened C & L Radio TV in Waverly, owning and operating the business for over sixty years, a business now run by his son, David. Lavern was a lifetime faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church in Tripoli and was a long time member of the Lutheran Brotherhood, serving as the President. He enjoyed tinkering with things, working on electronics and loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids.

Lavern is survived by his daughter, Linda K. (Dale E.) Denner of Algona; son, David L. (Brenda L.) Hunemuller of Tripoli; grandchildren, Andrew T. (Jessica A.) Denner, Megan E. Denner (Jeremy M. Rosier), Adam C. (Emma N.) Denner, Tena M. (Joseph R.) Ferrebee, Ethan R. Hunemuller, Isaiah M. (Rachel) Hunemuller, and Avery T. (Jazmin Raymer) Hunemuller; great-grandsons, Elijah J. Ferrebee and Isaac A. Denner; great-granddaughter, Brinley K. Peters; sisters-in-law, Audrey E. (Linsley) Baldwin and Virgilee K. Mott, both of Iowa Falls; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; granddaughter, Janet K. Denner; and brother-in-law, Timothy Mott.
