Susanne M. Heston, age 57, passed away suddenly on January 10, 2026.
A gathering to celebrate her life will be held from 1:00pm to 3:00pm Friday, January 16, 2026 at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd Street NE, Mason City, IA 50401.
Susanne Michelle Heston was born on May 23, 1968, in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of Robert Michael Heston and Sharon Louise (Farrell) Kinney.
Susanne grew up in Mason City, Iowa, where she attended school before continuing her education at Iowa State University.
Those left to cherish her memory include her parents, Mike Heston and Sherry Kinney; her sister, Pam O’Connor of The Woodlands, Texas, and her children, Katie O’Connor and John O’Connor; her brother, Steve Heston of Elkader, Iowa, his wife Stacy, and their sons, Daxon and Finn; her aunt Kathy Heston; her aunt Rose Anne Wallace; her uncle Jim Heston; and many extended family members, friends, and members of the horse community.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marian Farrell, Max Farrell, Robert Heston, and Grace Heston.
Susanne will be remembered as hardworking, devoted, and deeply passionate about her horses and her work. Her love for the life she built with them will not be forgotten.
