October 20, 1973 – January 8, 2026
James R. Eagen, age 52, of Lime Springs, IA, died on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at his home.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the Lime Springs Community Center, in Lime Springs, Iowa.
James Robert Eagen was born on October 20, 1973, son of Keith and Margaret (Aulwes) Eagen in Cresco, Iowa. Jim worked as an over the road truck driver for many years. When his health began to fail, he stayed closer to home and drove the Amish, creating many friendships. Jim was a fun uncle. He enjoyed taking his 3 nephews to movies, gaming with them, and teaching them “bad habits”.
Whether you referred to him as James, Jim, Jimmy, Big Ugg or Ugg, you knew him to be a great friend, very kind, and a man of his word. Jim loved his nickname Big Ugg or Ugg, even though it was short for ugly. He liked to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle, play video games, compete at trivia, and play with his dogs.
Jim is survived by his special friend Kim Frank of Lime Springs, IA; brother Brad O’Rourke of Riceville, IA; sisters Ann O’Rourke of Cresco, IA and Cathy (Jeff) Lorenzen of Rochester, MN; nephews Nick, Andrew (Chelsea), and Joe; great niece Brooklynn; uncle Ken (Connie) Eagen of Osage, IA; several cousins; and his 2 fur babies.
He was preceded in death by his parents Keith Eagen and Margaret “Peg” Fickess and his beloved dog Cid.
