Marguerite (Erpelding) Brcka, 88, passed away peacefully under hospice care on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Nora Springs Care Center.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30am Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 410 N Broadway St, Manly, IA 50456. Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery, Duncan, IA.

Visitation will be held 4pm to 7pm Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Bride Colonial Chapel, 110 East Spring Street, Manly, IA 50456. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 6:30pm.

Marguerite Rosalia Erpelding, daughter of John and Amanda (Ernst) Erpelding was born September 11, 1937 in Bode, IA. She was a 1955 graduate of Presentation Academy in Whittemore, Iowa. On June 20, 1961, Marguerite was united in marriage to Frank Brcka at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Whittemore. Together the couple shared 61 happy years together until Frank’s passing in 2022. Marguerite and Frank made their first home in Forest City where she was employed at Hanson’s (Stitchcraft). Later the couple managed an A&W Restaurant in Fort Dodge, Iowa. They then made their home in Mason City until 1969 when they purchased a farm north of Plymouth, IA. Marguerite took care of the daily farm and family chores as Frank worked at UPS in Mason City for 31 years.

Marguerite enjoyed gardening, flowers, baking and cooking, going dancing and spending time working on the farm. She was involved with many church activities at St. Michael’s and Sacred Heart.

Marguerite is survived by her daughter, Karen (Steve) Usher, Forest City, IA and grandson, Joe Usher; her sons, Dean (special friend, Kelli) Brcka, Plymouth, IA, and David Brcka, Waterloo, IA; her brother, Gerald Erpelding of Sioux City, IA; as well as several nieces and nephews and cherished family friends, Nancy Linderman and Tracy Grooters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; infant twin daughters, Jean and Joan; brothers, Francis (Mildred) Erpelding, Harold (Gloria) Erpelding; and sisters Angela (Martin) Frideres and Mae (Ed) Tigges.
