Larry A. Roth, 80, of Clear Lake, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake, IA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 17, 2025, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1001 9th Ave S, Clear Lake, IA 50428 with Rev. Josh Link officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Larry Alan Roth was born March 1, 1945, in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Wallace A. and Mildred I. (Mulhern) Roth. He grew up in Mason City and graduated from Mason City High School in 1963. He continued his education at technical school in Ottumwa, IA.
Larry worked for many years as a computer technician with Control Data, later Sperry Univac (now, Unisys), before finishing his career at East Side Neighborhood Services. He retired in 2007.
On May 1, 1965, Larry was united in marriage to Catherine “Cathy” Sue Katz at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mason City. Together they shared 60 wonderful years and were blessed with three children: Trent, Teresa, and Troy.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his gentle nature, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Cathy; children, Trent (Shari) Roth of Aiken, SC, Teresa (Dan) Palmen of Forrest Lake, MN, and Troy (Julie) Roth of Becker, MN; grandchildren, Amber (Tyler) Visin, Hailey Roth, Emily Palmen, Hannah (Steve) Markon, Dani (Eric) Carlson; great-grandchildren, Hayden and Carson Visin; a brother, Jack Roth; as well as nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his parents; his sister, Marilyn Muth and a sister-in-law, Anita Roth.
