Texas man nabbed on weapon and drug warrant in Charles City

CHARLES CITY – This Texas man allegedly crimed in Charles City, as police there nabbed him during a traffic stop on a warrant connected to weapon and drug crimes.

Charles City police conducted a traffic stop at 3:38 AM on September 1, 2925, in the 600 block of Gilbert Street.  Police soon discovered that a suspect was involved in the scene, and has been wanted on a warrant since August 23, 2024.  Taken into custody was 30-year-old Kedrick Sapp Jr. of Houston, Texas, who was wanted on a warrant for possession of marijuana and person ineligible to carry a dangerous weapon.  The charges were brought by Charles City police on August 22, 2024, after an incident on December 12, 2023, records show.

Sapp (pictured at top) was booked into the Floyd county jail at 3:56 AM that morning, and he remains there as he awaits a preliminary hearing set for September 10
