Mason City police charge suspect with sexual abuse of child

Mason City police brought a charge of continuous sexual abuse of a child against 34-year-old Jeremiah David Estrada on February 14, 2025. Iowa code 709.23(2) explains that a person who commits continuous sexual abuse of a child is, upon conviction, guilty of a class “B” felony and is punishable by up to 50 years in prison.

MASON CITY – A Mason City man is in the county jail, accused of the continuous sexual abuse of a child.

Mason City police brought a charge of continuous sexual abuse of a child against 34-year-old Jeremiah David Estrada on February 14, 2025. Iowa code 709.23(2) explains that a person who commits continuous sexual abuse of a child is, upon conviction, guilty of a class “B” felony and is punishable by up to 50 years in prison.

The alleged incidents took place since March 1, 2024, records show.

Estrada was booked into the Cerro Gordo county jail on Valentine’s Day at 1:58 AM. He’s being held on $25,000 cash-only bond, and has been appointed a public defender. Estrada awaits a preliminary hearing set for February 24 at 1:15 PM.
