CEDAR RAPIDS – Police in Iowa’s second-largest city which offers the most smells say someone took a gun and hunted for their prey, firing bullets that struck a male youth, placing him in hospital care.

Cedar Rapids police are investigating a shots fired incident that occurred on Friday, January 3, 2025, in the 4100 block of of Center Point Road NE. Officers responded to the scene at approximately 4:07 PM after a juvenile male reported being injured by gunfire. He was transported to a local hospital with what were considered non-life-threatening injuries.

A vehicle belonging to another individual was also struck, causing damage. Preliminary findings suggest this was a targeted event.

Police investigators asked for witnesses to come forward, and for anyone with video or photos from that area and time to call authorities.

This incident is still under investigation and no further information is available.
